INTRODUCTION TO THE KINGDOM OF BELGIUM

              WELCOME TO BELGIUM!

Belgium is a small, but a very beautiful country located in western Europe which borders Netherlands to the south, Germany to the east, Luxembourg to the southeast, France to the southwest and the North Sea to the northwest. Belgium which is officially known as the kingdom of Belgium is a sovereign state and a federal constitutional monarchy with a parliamentary system.

What is today Belgium was part of what the Romans called Gaul when the empire invaded Europe in the last century BCE and the early Centuries CE. The area that is now Belgium was first occupied by Franks when the Roman armies began a slow, centuries-long retreat as the empire faded away

Sharing a border with France, Germany and Netherlands, the languages spoken in Belgium are influenced by these countries, thus the official languages of Belgium are Dutch, German, and French.

Although Belgium is a small country in size, it is one of the countries which has the highest tourist attraction and is a very peaceful place to live. It has a population of more than 11.5 million, which makes it the 22nd most densely populated country in the world and the 6th most densely populated country in Europe.

Well, this was just an introduction to this magnificent country- Belgium.
